Introducing New "Quick-Build" Kit Design
A Leaner and Faster Kit Construction
We love the current kit design - with all its light, super energy performance, and natural feel. But, we also know there are faster, and even cheaper, ways to build. Now, we've got our own version of a faster build. Reducing much of the truss-work associated assembly labor, this new kit design will enable a faster assembly with improved energy efficiency - for an ultimately modern, energy efficient home!
Here are the highlights:
- Easier shell assembly - fewer components
- Faster build
- Passive solar design with built-in thermal mass
- Same super insulative qualities
- Less thermal bridging due to timber penetrations through walls
- Includes central interior partitions / columns and structural ridge beam
- Custom designed to meet site requirements
- All engineer certified construction drawings included in package
- Cost starting at about $55 per square foot

Passive Solar For The Win!
We don't want to jinx it, but it looks like we've dug ourselves out of the last snowfall of the season. We had a true New England winter this year, albeit with an unusual thaw midwinter, and our passive solar demonstration home yet again rose to the wintry challenge and provided us with copious, FREE heat. You can see in our most recent snow storm the 12+ inches of snow on the ground being melted away, into a wild and beautiful wave pattern, by the heat radiating off of our sliders. And inside, the temperature was a comfortable 75° while our thermostat was set to a meager 58° to ensure that no pipes could freeze during the night. Passive solar does it again!
