We're launching a new blog series profiling Noble Home owner/builders. Here, we'll track their Noble Homes from design to construction, highlight inventive and exciting aspects of their projects, and share updates as they build and then live in their new homes. We hope that you find tracking their progress as interesting as we do!
Our first spotlight features Kristen and Sean, who will be building the first Model Z Noble Home next spring. We're in the design phase now, creating a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1,280 square foot home that will be nestled into 16 acres of farmland an hour outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The land will be a mixture of woodland and productive farmland with a barn, orchards, vegetable farm, laying hens, and broiler chickens, among other exciting land use projects.
Kristen and Sean are committed homesteaders and their aim is to be as self-sufficient as possible. Their heating needs will be met with solar heat and they plan to grow the majority of their food. One of their requests was to include a root cellar in the design, which will be accessed through a floor hatch in the pantry, to put up their summer yields.
They've been dreaming of a small farm and homestead for years and we are thrilled that they've chosen us to help turn this vision into a reality. Check back regularly for updates as they embark on this exciting venture!
